1. Currency & Official Rates

  • Official Currency: The official currency of Puerto Rico is the United States Dollar (USD).

  • Payment Acceptance: All transactions, including security deposits and occupancy fees, are processed in USD.

  • Credit Cards: While widely accepted across the island, a 5% convenience fee applies to all online credit card transactions.

2. Booking Payment Terms

To secure your villa, the following payment schedule applies:

  • Initial Deposit: 50% of the total stay amount is due immediately upon booking confirmation to reserve your dates.

  • Final Balance: The remaining 50% must be paid in full 45 days prior to your scheduled check-in date.

  • House Guest Program Fees: If you opt for the resort membership, these specific payments and deposits must be made via ACH, wire transfer, or Zelle.

3. Pro-Tip: How to Save on Fees

  • Avoid Booking Fees: You can save significantly by choosing traditional payment methods. If you pay via Zelle or Wire Transfer, we will waive the standard online booking fees.

  • Security Deposit: Your refundable security deposit is held to cover potential damages, excessive cleaning, or utility overages (electricity exceeding 85 kWh/day). This is typically refunded via company check within 30 days of departure.

4. Useful Payment & Travel Tips

  • Automated Tolls: Most rental cars in Puerto Rico come equipped with an AutoExpreso tag. You do not need to stop at toll booths; charges are typically handled through your rental agreement.

  • Resort Incidental Charges: For guests with the "House Guest" membership, a credit card is required as security for any incidental expenses (dining, golf, etc.) that exceed your initial deposit.

  • Cash for Local Exploration: While the resort areas are card-friendly, we recommend carrying a small amount of cash for local kiosks (chinchorros), small vendors, or tips in rural areas.
